UTD Mercury Graphics, 2018-2022

Over the course of my time at The UTD Mercury, I had the pleasure of working with so many talented writers, photographers, and editors. They helped shape my path through college, and constantly inspired me to do my best work. This collection is from across all four years of my time at The Mercury, including my time as graphics editor!

I began as a specialist in infographic design. I really thrived when working with data and finding ways to visualize that data that was easy to understand. Eventually, I expanded and began doing illustrations too, before eventually even pitching and completing a few comics. Finally, as graphics editor, I worked on large full-page layouts and designs for special printings!

Under my art direction, in conjunction with the other editors, and a talented, hardworking team, the newspaper won several awards at the 2022 TIPA Conference (Texas Intercollegiate Press Association). 

• 3rd Place, Division 1 & 2: Production in the Special Edition Print Design Category at TIPA (2022) 
• 3rd Place, Division 1: Visual Reporting in the Static Infographic Category at TIPA (2022)
• 3rd Place, Division 1: Overall Excellence in the Newspaper Category at TIPA (2022)
